Etched forever


Like a tattoo sitting firmly on the arm,
Carefully sketched, painfully borne,
A joy for a moment, a scar for life.
Desired, nurtured, protected, celebrated.
So sit in mind a bundle of memories
That cannot be erased, that cannot be ignored.
Giving pleasure one moment and pain the other.
Etched forever, created to last- for a lifetime.

Life is a circus

Life is a circus and I am a trapeze artist. I swing from one bar to another- trying to play it safe. So I swing from work to family, from duty to indulgence, from responsibility to blithe. All the while I think that I will not slip, I will not miss. I should not slip, I should not miss. I know the net is there below me, in case I trip. A net with many names - family, friends, financial security, hope, confidence. There will be clowns in colourful dresses, crowds gawking with bated breath, ring masters with watchful eyes. All waiting to see - if I will fall, if I can make it. When I eventually do finish my act - Some will applaud, some will cheer, Some will frown, some will say it was a stroke of luck. For my part, I would just be glad that the act is done, I managed without injuries, I entertained and I did what was expected of me. Happy to be creative

I am a left handed person and they say lefties are more artistically and creatively inclined. In my family I am the only one who has interest in crafts, arts and things like that. I am the happiest when I am creatively occupied. I like to get my creative juices flowing. I love sending out hand made cards and gifts. I love participating in contests that involve creativity. It may be a contest to come up with a name or with a tag line or anything like that. Who cares about winning. Participation is fun! When I see something I immediately know that I have to do something about it. I mean, I see an empty chocolate box and may feel like making a jewelery box out of it. I may see a nice gift wrapper and feel like making a book mark out of it. So when I saw a simple toran/ door hanging my niece made at her summer camp, my mind started ticking. Chasing a dream......

I wandered lost, long enough Until I thought I found myself. It was a mirage, a trick well played, The road I thought had closed, the peace I thought  was made. From post to pole, from light to gloom, No stone unturned, no chance taken, You think you made it, you think you won, Only to realise you are mistaken.   The eye, it sees what your mind shows- The heart it feels what your soul speaks, Life, love and labour lost; Nothing gained at no cost! A dream I chased, a goal I found. Moving ahead in a new direction- Life doesn’t stop at that for sure It makes no promise, it doesn’t always assure!
